Safety: Safe. Walkability: Easy to walk around.
Peaceful and relaxing stay. Excellent amenities. We stayed very close to the dam and watched bushbuck and fish eagle feeding. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Complements to manager Bronwyn Nicholas who attended to all requests for minor issues in our unit. We enjoyed the 5 km hike with spectacular views. The meet and greet plus braai getogether was very refreshing. Lastly my only negative issue is that a proper table and chairs to be put into the living area of the unit for eating. It's great to have table and chairs outside for summer, but not in winter. We will be back
We are South Africans visiting from New Zealand and spend the last weekend with my cousins at Waterberg Game Park. Other than the road in (dirt road that you could do nothing about due to rains and damage) we could honestly not complain about ANYTHING. From our first contact with security at the gate, reception, the staff at the Restaurant/Bar, we only experienced amazingly friendly and efficient service for the entirety of our stay. In particular I'd like to commend Rebecca None who served us the entire day on Saturday. It seemed like there were a shortage of staff, but we never felt like it, she ran from one point to the other, non stop service but the attitude she did it with and the smile she displayed the entire time was such a refreshing experience. She's a real asset to this establishment! I cannot commend Rebecca enough for the way she handled everything yesterday. LOVED her energy and vibe. She's such an amazing human being. Thank you for all you did to make our stay such an amazing experience! Rooms: Great size and comfortable. Nearby activities: Rare game drive. Pool. Put-Put. Kayaks. Walk tracks and a few more things. Safety: other than naughty monkey that made his way inside to steal a banana (our mistake for leaving the door open while we carried stuff in) I never felt unsafe at all. Food & drinks: The restaurant on site and bar was sufficient for our needs
Amazing place, natural nature scenery and green ambience! Rooms: Well structured and comfortable. Nearby activities: Vaalwater for shopping required. Safety: Very safe. Walkability: Guided tours and trails, great entertainment set out for every day. Food & drinks: Food is good and loads of entertainment at the resort. Noteworthy details: Travelling road from Sukses less gravel and shorter route
Had an amazing experience. Has a chilled vibe and a great place to recover and restore Walkability: Easy to walk around
Beautiful place. Calm, quiet, peaceful.
Visit this place if you want relax, and connect. The place is clean, has good wifi and enough amenities to keep the kids busy for a week. Family enjoyed the hike, the game drive and the pool. We also enjoyed the meet and greet afternoon tea and family braai night. Our accom was close to the restaurant, so we enjoyed the night walks to and from the restaurant. Will definitely visit again! PS; yes there is a bit of gravel road to the resort, and do your shopping before hitting the waterberg area.
Mothers day special Games
Great family location. Restaurant are very well priced and food is great. WiFi connectivity available everywhere. Pool and slide are fun for the kids and the hike is excellent
Kids friendly environment
Great playing area for kids.
Had a very nice few days with family at Waterberg Game Park. There are two accessible lodges available. Parking is close by and a ramp from the car park to the accommodation. Inside is spacious. Found the communal bathroom (not the en suite) to be better for wheelchair access and a chair was provided on request to use as a shower seat. There weren’t any grab rails when we visited. Most of the resort can be accessed by wheelchair friendly paths and one leads to the restaurant and pools. There are 3 small swimming pools and a water slide which the children enjoyed for hours on end. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. Rooms: Spacious comfortable room which had a ceiling fan. Safety: Felt secure. Walkability: There are walking routes to follow around the park. 5km and 10km if remembered correctly. Food & drinks: Bar/restaurant is well equipped.
Far from Pretoria though. Very nice place to relax with family. Services excellent and their staff are very friendly
Great staff initiatives with the dance and singing. Awesome team from security, cleaners admin and management. Clean rooms, nice pathways and great encounters with wild animals
I liked everything, from the staff to environment
I liked everything from the guards at the gate who made us feel welcomed to the guy at the reception to the housekeeping ladies who treated us with utmost respect. It rained so hard the night before we checked out up untimely we left the place, we got stuck a few kilometers away from the resort and we got help the resort sent out a bakkie to come and assist us. Waterberg game park will always have my heart
Waterberg Game Reserve will definitely see me again, I can honestly not fault the accomodation or staff, Especially Jackie, Jackie thankyou for an awesome game drive. There is Plenty to do for kids aswell as adults @ this resort. From Tennis and put-put to air trampoline and games rooms. Very safe, short hikes tranquil settings and good food @ the restaurant. There are two dirt roads connecting the tar road to the resort, an 8/10km and an approximately 30/35km, best is to enquire with reception which is the shorter of the two. (Would depend on which direction you come from). YES. I will definitely be visiting again.
Great stay. Children loved it
Set in a very tranquil setting in chalets with very comfortable beds and large clean bathrooms - you will find yourself enjoying the entertainments in the mornings with your coffee - watching the monkeys try and find some food. Youa can take a casual hike through the bush and enjoy a wonderful chill in the pools. Easy location to get to get to, just follow your GPS. Good Value for money and quiet all around. Rooms are serviced daily - so you just need to rest.
Far from Johannesburg though road not baf Rooms: Clean. Safety: Very good. Walkability: Good. Food & drinks: Excellent
Staff was friendly plus the sight seeing of the environment was beautiful
Stunningly beautifull. Tranquil and peace of mind in raw bushveld.
Its family orientated
It was a great wildlife Rooms: They have too many insects. Nearby activities: None. Safety: Good. Walkability: Perfect. Food & drinks: Excellent. Noteworthy details: Perfect
An amazing place, real hidden gem. Best that there is limited wifi so you can have a real holiday.
It's a great location and a great property for young families. Lots for young kids to do. The staff are excellent and really do a great job in matching all requests.
The accommodation is nice including the view
Lovely place for families to escape from the business of life. Lots to do if the weather is great. Hiking, canoeing, tennis, table tennis, hot pool, games room, outdoor chess, bounce mat, superette and great restaurant and bar.
It is very beautiful and very calming Perfect for family, perfect for romantic getaway since there is no network will be a perfect time to bond💓
The game park accommodation is approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours from Johannesburg. The roads after Bela Bela are challenging with lots of roadworks and sand roads. The actual venue is pleasant with comfortable accommodation. But there is not much to do or see as you have to pay for an expensive game ranger to be allowed to see the animals. There is no to very little cellphone signal, so you can not phone out. The internet is practically nonexistent even when you sit by reception. I was made to buy internet data, which I was not able to use as there is no free Wi-Fi available to hotel guests. My daughter could have lost her job being out of contact so we were forced to go home the next day. We took the wrong road as there were no proper signage or signal to get directions and ended driving an extra hour on a dirt road. At 11pm at night they switch off the generator- nobody told us. There were no outside or inside emergency lights. We were left totally in the dark until the next morning. I really left feeling extremely frustrated 😡
Waterberg Game Reserve is perfectly located in the bush, making it a true escape from everyday life. There is absolutely no network signal, which adds to the feeling of disconnecting and relaxing. The reserve is home to various wildlife, including different species of buck and warthogs that roam the area. The facilities are top class and well maintained. They include a swimming pool, games room, bar, restaurant, additional pools, game drives, hiking trails, a tennis court, mini golf, and paddling activities. Overall, it’s an excellent destination for a peaceful bush getaway with plenty to do.
It surely is a very beautiful place to visit. Entertainment area and shop, restaurant and bar are very well kept and staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a well maintained multi-court, 9-holer mini golf course, three great pools and much more for the kids. Animal sighting is a plus for me as well. Although the WIFI didn't work due to natutal reasons is ok with me.
I must emphasize that visiting the waterberg after 7 years a lot has changed. I was not impressed with the cleanness of our chalet. The bathroom was filthy, with hair on the shower and basin. That just rubbed me off. Hygiene is very important, but clearly, not everyone takes that into consideration. I thought that was all until I went to the braai area, cigarettes buds and the outdoor table filthy as if they were not expecting people. Why do a late check in, while we still find the place filthy? I checked in around 17H30 and I expected our place to be clean. Management please take us serious, we are paying customers. It can't be right that am on vacation and I must be reporting such issues. I need a peaceful stay, and not to be reporting issues that MUST be done. Cleanness is standard.
There is so much for children to do. It was fantastic the staff was all friendly it was amazing
