This is such an interesting place to visit with your family and friends. It has a beautiful view of the Drakensberg mountains. Beautiful and spacious rooms with warm pool. The staff at the reception is friendly as well as the housekeepers. Their dedication is amazing. Rooms: Big,neat and spacious. Safety: Safety is the first priority. Walkability: Easy to walk around the place
The facilities
Excellent customer service from check in to check out. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with splash pool. Entire villa was clean and well equipped. The splash pool is heated 24/7. The entire resort offers a very peaceful vibe with a lot to do. All staff members are friendly and always willing to help. The restaurant is also very good with a nice variety of meals. The road to get here definitely needs attention but if you drive slowly, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Will definitely be back.
The neatness and service
Great location and one of the newer places at the burg. The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartments are spacious except the bedrooms have a double, maybe a queen bed? Not sure but it was tight. However, the inconsistency with pricing was a bit concerning. They run specials on their website which are not really specials. Based on the one bedroom with splash pool. Midweek special (20% off I think) 3 nights = 7395. Pay for 3 nights, stay for 4 = 8700 ( which is not really a special as you're paying for the 4th night - I called to clarify as I thought it was a mistake, however I was told no, they calculate this on a higher rate) And then if you book on their main page, without choosing the special, 3 nights =7026 ( almost R400 cheaper than choosing the special - again, when I pointed this out, I was told it's not a mistake. The facilities were great and it was very neat and tidy.
The facility is beautiful, the units are stunning, and the views are outstanding. However, the main drawback is the restaurant — we waited over an hour for our food despite it not being busy. It appears to be significantly understaffed

The location, views, facilities, and on-site activities were amazing with it all being in one secure private resort estate. Additionally, between the restaurants and convenience store, I did not have to leave the site for anything. The prices for activities and meals were very reasonable. It's a family friendly estate, and packed with activities for all ages including an outdoor garden gym. There are also many great places to visit, all in a +/- 30min drive from Cayley, including a service station, Birds of Prey park, the Chocolate bar with many other stalls and cafes at the same site, the Reptile park and many more.

Ideal place for larger families to spend time together, not really worth it for a couple. Where we stayed, a one bedroom villa with splash pool, the photos of the view on the website is a little exaggerated, as we had more view of the house and road in front instead of the mountains. Would I go back? Definitely not in the summer or hot weather (although this limits available activities). There is no aircon. In cooler weather, would maybe go back but with more family and better prepared (food, drinks and entertainment). A little pricey for overall experience. Rooms: Less 2 stars on this cause beds are getting a little worn and NO AIRCON. Nearby activities: Within the resort...lots to do for families and subject to good weather. Safety: Not really a safety issue but if you dont take the whole house, you share an entrance hall with others. It is only mentioned when they call you a couple days before to confirm. Walkability: Great to walk around. Food & drinks: Little store available and restaurant but rather a place to come prepared and cook or braai at accommodation. Noteworthy details: Heated pools around the resort is really great. Lots of entertainment for the kids.

Absolutel everything
This is the most tranquil developed spot one can find anywhere. It offers peace and any degree of isolation a visitor may desire, while excellent amenities are plentiful for a day of socialising, de-stressing or playing. The rooms do need airconditioning though to complete the comfort served.
The kids loved the space, us adults enjoyed that. Had a few maintenance issues but the house care taker (his name) MONDAIE was sensational. Came late night as the bottom unit flooded, he cleaned up the floor fixed the toilet fixings and fixed the hot water issue too. He also came the next day and detached the old toilet fixings and changed out parts with new ones and fixed it all. Thank you to MANIE as well for doing all he did to accommodate us with these issues of the house and offered us great accommodating options. He also helped us meet the timeshare team to discuss further options as we enjoyed the stay thoroughly. We had a late Checkout option and it changed the whole day in a great way. Something to be offered on Sundays if no one is booked in, I think that money model will work. We went back down to the inflatable park got all day tickets, hired canoes, paddle boards and boats. We checked out at 2pm and went for lunch at the restaurant with 6 kids and 4 adults. So an extra R3000 spent without paying a late checkout fee so it's something we do for our bungalows in Rarotonga (Dorothy Muri Beach Bungalows). Stunning team overall, staff are super helpful all over the resort. Thank you. We will be back 100% for the manor house.

Everything was exceptionally well from the reception big ups to Nombuso thanks for information about the cruise and braai that day was pretty outstanding sealed by a bottle of champagne on a clean room with balloons that was a Wow. Cayley Mountain resort is by far the best place to stay in the berg. The units are beautifully done and it's so comfortable. The children love the access to the private splash pool as well as everything else the resort has to offer in terms of entertainment. We love visiting and will definitely keep returning.

Oh the Cayley mountain was such a restful and peaceful place. One that gave an amazing experience for me and my family. The rooms are modern and spacious. The service from the staff was to die for, Mbali at the restaurant was such a great waiter and informative on what to offer! Only bummer which is a challenge beyond Cayley is the potholes driving there and that gravel road to the destination. But it is one that once you get to Cayley you’d forget about the bumpy road!

The unit we were in was quite private and we enjoyed the splash pool. And the convenient store was very helpful with smaller items we needed for cooking. The restaurant and spa were equally great. We left the property very relaxed and happy.

We stayed at Cayley Lodge for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. The staff were all friendly, the cleaners were exceptionally friendly (they deserve a special mention!), and everything was spotless – seriously, not a speck out of place. The grounds are beautiful, the view is unreal, and the whole place just has that calm, “you can finally exhale” feeling. They even surprised my wife for her birthday – completely unexpected and incredibly thoughtful. They didn’t have to, but they went out of their way to make it special, and that really says everything about the heart of this place.

Rooms: Very clean and kept rooms... Excellent service if you have any issues... The room we had only had a fan and no aircon, not complaining though... Nearby activities: Boat bruises around the dam in the vicinity, quad bikes, water activities, a warm pool with the best view you'll ever get, miniature golf, a spa... Please see website for exhaustive list... Safety: Place of save and secure, if sharing a villa with others, you're given a card that opens the communal doors and your designated room (which has its own patio and bathroom, so worry not...) Walkability: Most things are within walking distance, however, some wheels will make the experience much more enjoyable and convenient... Food & drinks: Restaurants and store on site, mainly at the reception building... Then there's another store at the beach club...
Excellent place for the family very neat and secure. However I would recommend a golf cart shuttle for those guests like myself who arrived with a transport service

Im writting this review while still checked in. The rooms and location is perfect but the staff is rude. We are checking out on monday, we went out this morning to have breakfast and came back to our room door not opening. Only to find out they thought we checked out. If you want peace of mind rather book a self catering unit otherwise you will regret it. I can go on the whole day about pathetic service we have received in this place.
