The view was exceptional!!!
Cayley is a stunning mountain resort with plenty to do. Kids will have a blast. You do not need a 4 x 4 to access the resort as some people have claimed. A very low car would have a problem so leave your Ferrari at home. But most cars will be fine. Driving carefully is just common sense on any road. In fact the actual road that leads up to Cayley itself is in the best condition out of them all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unit was clean and serviced daily.

I'm pregnant and wasnt feeling well . The reception was very kind and helpful and called a paramedic to check up on me at 10pm at night . Then everytime I saw the reception staff they asked if I was okay . Which was really kind . A Special thanks to Arnold the security / first aid . Who saw to us immediately and got the paramedic there in a short few mins . He really didnt waste anytime in taking the best care of us . And even reassured us that if we needed anything during the night he was there to assist . Which was really way more kindness than we could've ever expected .
Rooms: Very neat and well kept. Best to book the self accommodation rooms if traveling with large party. Nearby activities: All activities exclusive to CMR, sauna pools, putt-putt, the dam has more activities. Safety: Very safe. Walkability: Very much recommended and there are walking trails. Food & drinks: There is only one main restaurant and a shop that caters more to the self-accommodation units so my next stay will be the self catering option. Due to religious and dietary restrictions the resort did not provide chicken or lamb options at breakfast and supper was limited to chicken only. That being said the food preparation was still of the highest quality.

Beautiful place for holidays and the room are perfect, just short of the game for the kids. Nearby activities: Hiking, speedboat. Food & drinks: Self catering but there is restaurant also available and no cash for purchase only card.
The location, cleanliness and facilities
The location is in a perfect place. We went at the end of June hoping to see some snow. But to our surprise it was actually really warm during this time. We stayed in the 4 sleeper chalet which was huge for just the two of us. We absolutely loved it. We bought someone's timeshare through IExhange so it was definitely value for money. The resort is very very clean with friendly staff and is the perfect getaway if you're looking for a place the the mountains to get away from the bustling city. Our favorite amenity was The View. Its amazing if you just want to chill, Cayley beach club is just as awesome but I think there are much more activities during peak season as we visited off peak season.

Layout of the chalet not so convenient for families with young kids as there is an adjoining studio and the walls are not sound proof. The road to reach the property is riddled with potholes. Front of house staff most unfriendly and unwelcoming Restaurant was good, staff friendly and very accommodating. Room was spacious, clean. Beautiful fireplace. Dam activites are great , weather dependant. Kids play area also good. The resort is cashless.

The facilities
Excellent customer service from check in to check out. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with splash pool. Entire villa was clean and well equipped. The splash pool is heated 24/7. The entire resort offers a very peaceful vibe with a lot to do. All staff members are friendly and always willing to help. The restaurant is also very good with a nice variety of meals. The road to get here definitely needs attention but if you drive slowly, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Will definitely be back.
The neatness and service
Great location and one of the newer places at the burg. The staff were friendly and helpful. The apartments are spacious except the bedrooms have a double, maybe a queen bed? Not sure but it was tight. However, the inconsistency with pricing was a bit concerning. They run specials on their website which are not really specials. Based on the one bedroom with splash pool. Midweek special (20% off I think) 3 nights = 7395. Pay for 3 nights, stay for 4 = 8700 ( which is not really a special as you're paying for the 4th night - I called to clarify as I thought it was a mistake, however I was told no, they calculate this on a higher rate) And then if you book on their main page, without choosing the special, 3 nights =7026 ( almost R400 cheaper than choosing the special - again, when I pointed this out, I was told it's not a mistake. The facility is beautiful, the units are stunning, and the views are outstanding. However, the main drawback is the restaurant — we waited over an hour for our food despite it not being busy. It appears to be significantly understaffed

The location, views, facilities, and on-site activities were amazing with it all being in one secure private resort estate. Additionally, between the restaurants and convenience store, I did not have to leave the site for anything. The prices for activities and meals were very reasonable. It's a family friendly estate, and packed with activities for all ages including an outdoor garden gym. There are also many great places to visit, all in a +/- 30min drive from Cayley, including a service station, Birds of Prey park, the Chocolate bar with many other stalls and cafes at the same site, the Reptile park and many more.

My family loved everything about the place especially entertainment for kids
Ideal place for larger families to spend time together, not really worth it for a couple. Where we stayed, a one bedroom villa with splash pool, the photos of the view on the website is a little exaggerated, as we had more view of the house and road in front instead of the mountains. Would I go back? Definitely not in the summer or hot weather (although this limits available activities). There is no aircon. In cooler weather, would maybe go back but with more family and better prepared (food, drinks and entertainment). A little pricey for overall experience. Rooms: Less 2 stars on this cause beds are getting a little worn and NO AIRCON. Nearby activities: Within the resort...lots to do for families and subject to good weather. Safety: Not really a safety issue but if you dont take the whole house, you share an entrance hall with others. It is only mentioned when they call you a couple days before to confirm. Walkability: Great to walk around. Food & drinks: Little store available and restaurant but rather a place to come prepared and cook or braai at accommodation. Noteworthy details: Heated pools around the resort is really great. Lots of entertainment for the kids.
