I must emphasize that visiting the waterberg after 7 years a lot has changed. I was not impressed with the cleanness of our chalet. The bathroom was filthy, with hair on the shower and basin. That just rubbed me off. Hygiene is very important, but clearly, not everyone takes that into consideration. I thought that was all until I went to the braai area, cigarettes buds and the outdoor table filthy as if they were not expecting people. Why do a late check in, while we still find the place filthy? I checked in around 17H30 and I expected our place to be clean. Management please take us serious, we are paying customers. It can't be right that am on vacation and I must be reporting such issues. I need a peaceful stay, and not to be reporting issues that MUST be done. Cleanness is standard.
It surely is a very beautiful place to visit. Entertainment area and shop, restaurant and bar are very well kept and staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a well maintained multi-court, 9-holer mini golf course, three great pools and much more for the kids. Animal sighting is a plus for me as well. Although the WIFI didn't work due to natutal reasons is ok with me.
Waterberg Game Reserve is perfectly located in the bush, making it a true escape from everyday life. There is absolutely no network signal, which adds to the feeling of disconnecting and relaxing. The reserve is home to various wildlife, including different species of buck and warthogs that roam the area. The facilities are top class and well maintained. They include a swimming pool, games room, bar, restaurant, additional pools, game drives, hiking trails, a tennis court, mini golf, and paddling activities. Overall, it’s an excellent destination for a peaceful bush getaway with plenty to do.
The game park accommodation is approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours from Johannesburg. The roads after Bela Bela are challenging with lots of roadworks and sand roads. The actual venue is pleasant with comfortable accommodation. But there is not much to do or see as you have to pay for an expensive game ranger to be allowed to see the animals. There is no to very little cellphone signal, so you can not phone out. The internet is practically nonexistent even when you sit by reception. I was made to buy internet data, which I was not able to use as there is no free Wi-Fi available to hotel guests. My daughter could have lost her job being out of contact so we were forced to go home the next day. We took the wrong road as there were no proper signage or signal to get directions and ended driving an extra hour on a dirt road. At 11pm at night they switch off the generator- nobody told us. There were no outside or inside emergency lights. We were left totally in the dark until the next morning. I really left feeling extremely frustrated 😡

Lovely place for families to escape from the business of life. Lots to do if the weather is great. Hiking, canoeing, tennis, table tennis, hot pool, games room, outdoor chess, bounce mat, superette and great restaurant and bar.

It is a beautiful place and it is child friendly
The facilities, such as the pools and playground, were great—especially the heated pool. The rooms were good and clean. The shower was great! The sheets were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the rare game drive experience with Shanra!

The resort is fantastic, the unit was clean, comfortable and well maintained. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The restaurant food was excellent and we cannot recommend your resort enough. Thank you for a fabulous few days.
Beautiful place, Friendly service, clean and cozy rooms with enough blankets to keep warm.The heated pool was amazing. Kitchen fully equipped. The only only downfall for me was, no small bathroom carpets.
The location, nature and facilities were great. It created a nice escape from the city. The game drive was also a good experience, with the tour guide making the drive friendly, funny and fun.

The resort is very well thought out and maintained. The accommodation was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The rooms were serviced every day. Loved the animals roaming around on the resort. Enjoyed the pool and the hike. Just a pity no wifi as there is hardly any cellphone signal.
Rooms: The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Nearby activities: We wanted to try a place, where we don't want to step outside the resort again for any visits and this place ticks that box. Safety: The location is deep inside and we didn't have or heard any safety concerns. Walkability: Inside the resort the pathways are all well laid for quiet walks. Food & drinks: The restaurant got good food and the staff is great. Noteworthy details: There are enough activities in the resort for a quick weekend getaway. Definitely worth going back for another day.
The staff was exceptional. The accommodation as promised. The grounds were clean; inviting and what a break from Gauteng required. Truly wonderful property. (I understand that it is recovering from flooding and some areas showed it - but it was not an inconvenience). Surprisingly I enjoyed the lack of wi-fi.

The overall place was stunning, we were lucky to have arrived just when most of the renovations where completed. We had a great time playing bingo with all the visitors. That was an awesome touch that allowed people to interact. The burgers were super good, fully enjoyed that.

Busy with renovations after the floods thye experienced but you can already feel that this is going to be destination of choice for families. Neat rooms friendly staff , should definitely be on your list of places to visit.

This is Gem that has not been discovered yet. The friendliness of the staff, the facilities and the quality and comfort of the accommodation is superb. After the floods they doing a magnificent job of getting all amenities working 100% swiftly. Nearby activities: You do not want to go anywhere. This is heaven. Walkability: All areas have walkways with lighting. Food & drinks: The restaurant is good value with a variety of food and drinks to cater for all tastes

The location was good, parking was fair and professionally marked to enable visitors peace of mind parking. We liked - privacy, nature reserve theme. Peace and quiet. Very friendly staff.
This place was absolutely amazing! The time we were there, there was no signal or wifi but that was no problem it gave us all time to disconnect and connect more with each other. The game drive was utterly beautiful and the guide was so amazing and informative of what types of trees and animals there are. There were a few problems but not major ones, small things like there was water everywhere due to previous floods which they are working on fixing as well as the pool and put-put being unavailable but again they were in the process of fixing it. The food was wonderful and was presented in an amazing fashion. The staff were also amazing and friendly except for one person at the shop. The road to the place was a bit rough but the views you get driving makes it better. I would recommend going here but later in the year when most of their stuff is fixed. Rooms: The rooms were great and clean every day 10/10. Nearby activities: If you are willing to drive a little out there are some great restaurants but DO NOT go to jes park! Safety: I did not feel in any danger there the security was nice but also on alert, the only fear I had was a monkey stealing my toast in the morning. Walkability: Everything is in walking distance on nicely laid stone paths but also far enough for a nice jog. Food & drinks: Food and drink were absolutely amazing 10/10. Noteworthy details: No signal/wifi but will be fixed due to them switching providers.
