A perfect family gate away resort with loads of fun activities daily. Its beautiful inside and outside and the staff are attentive ,courteous ,welcoming and very hospitable. What you see on the adverts is what you get and even better.
It was clean and easily accessible
The staff was exceptional. The accommodation as promised. The grounds were clean; inviting and what a break from Gauteng required. Truly wonderful property. (I understand that it is recovering from flooding and some areas showed it - but it was not an inconvenience). Surprisingly I enjoyed the lack of wi-fi.
Nearby activities: Never a dull day with all the nearby activities. Safety: We felt safe every day. Walkability: We had a walk around the resort everyday and enjoy every moment
The road to Dikhololo could do with a good scraping as lower vechiles takes a bit of a hit,but the accommodation is fabulous. Clean, tidy and all you need. Loved the bring & braai and dance. Can't wait for my next trip. Rooms: Spacious rooms, with clean linen and towels. Nearby activities: 4-wheeler game drives, game drives, zip lining, put put, canooing, paddling, fishing, bicycle hire, tennis. Safety: Very safe and secure. Walkability: Paved walkways to amenities. Food & drinks: Restaurant and shop on site. Build in braai at the units, braai facilities at the dam.

A wonderful place for a family holiday. Small.kids and teens alike will enjoy it. Rooms: The bungalows were modern, well-equipped and clean. Nearby activities: Sun City. Safety: Very secure.

Location, and activities for kids
Location only rated 4 stars due to no shops nearby but other than that I had the best time and wished to stay longer!! Self catering at its best man. I'm due to return within this year. This is a great escape 3hrs from jhb a great retreat worth the drive. I would recommend it for groups upto 12 and couples alone as well it's perfect! Rooms: Very spacious! Neat finishes on detail corner to corner, modern! Nearby activities: There's plenty to be explored there it's a massive property! Enough for kids and adults. Safety: 10 out 10. Walkability: Easy access to all facilities

Great location close to safari, safe, friendly staff. Clean spacious rooms, nice bathrooms. Much more affordable option for safari than the lodges.

What a beautiful place. The chalet was nice and clean. The resort activities such as the putt-putt and padle boats was so fun.

The cottages were neat and clean with a fully equipped kitchen. The food at the restaurant was delicious and affordable. The staff at the restaurant were also very friendly.

My husband and I are currently at the lodge as I type this review, we check out tomorrow and I must say we are extremely impressed. The resort is such a beautiful place, everything about Cayley screams luxury vacation. Resort has so much to do from fun activities to restaurants. We haven't left the resort from check in. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. We are having an amazing time and already planning our next visit! Rooms: We booked a double room with patio it is beautiful & spacious for a couple. The bathrom is huge which is absolutely awesome. Bathroom has a shower and a tub. Nearby activities: The resort has so many activities to offer. Multiple water activities to choose from, archery, paintball,quad biking,tennis cort,jacuzzi,pools,put put and lots more. The chocolate bar is a few km away from resort. Safety: Cayley Mountain Resort is extremely safe. Resort is gated & fenced. Rooms have access cards to enter. Safe undercover parking for vehicles. Walkability: The room we booked was walking distance close to reception and nearby activities. We only drove to the beach club. Food & drinks: The Bell and Wistle restaurant is a lovely chill restaurant. The food was also quite nice. Service from staff was also good. There is also the steam cafe, the view cafe by the infinity pool and another restaurant at the beach club

Fantastic facilities in spectacular location. Staff ready to assist, kids programme is great. indoor pool and local hikes of varying difficulties. You actually don’t have to leave the Lodge at all - can spend holiday right here! Even a spa for those that need a time out😬 Rooms: Great. Serviced and all that you need. Clean and relative new. Nearby activities: Local hikes and drives through SanParka Golden Gate Reserve. Clarens for more quirky shopping and stocking up on supplies . Safety: Feel very safe here, even happy to have to kids walk around the lodge with friends alone. Walkability: Some small local walks and then others further out for the more advanced. Caters for all fitness levels for sure. Noteworthy details: It’s like God was showing off when he made this areas of the world. Must have painted each stone by hand .
The environment The facilities The ambiance. The staff. The renovated chalet given(even though they still need to work on the outside of the chalets as it looks dated, worn out and not that clean however inside it is very clean. For a three star it exceeded my expectations

Layout, facilities and helpful staff
This is a fantastic resort. Massive grounds. Clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The resort offers a lot. Very safe and conveniently close to Plettenberg Bay. This was a business trip but will be back for a pleasure trip
It looks all nice and would be a nice holiday for a family, the facilities etc are family like. The rooms look good but the most important is a good night's rest. Here is where they fail. We know South Africans like a hard bed, but this resort managed to find beds harder than hard. Certainly not up to international standards and it is almost impossible to get a good night's rest for international tourists. If you let the staff know, then they don't know what to do and start defending, instead of dealing with it. The reception supervisor was better, once he came over, he got someone to deal with it. Their solution is to put a blanket underneath??? Really... that's barely better... a resort like this cannot afford a matrass topper... Even better, maybe revise your beds to international standards and train your staff in what do if something is not up to scratch.
This is a stunning place 10/10 overall, from booking the place to staying was heaven. The place is beautiful and private with a beautiful view. The aspect that stands out the most, is the service, hats off to service people at your beck and call - no need to be waited on. I would personally recommend this place especially the 3 bedroom with private pools. thank you we rested and enjoyed.

The food was was nice, if they could reduce the salt a little bit. My husband had bunny chow on the 26th November and there was too much salt.
