The cleaner didn't remove waste from dustbins and she didn't clean on our second day.The place is very nice.... Is like u are not in Africa. Wish they can fix the road before entrance... N put a signage just after traffic circle. Beds are really comfortable. Please increase quantity of your pots. We were 7 and had to use one pot; wash it n reuse that waste time n electricity. Will I come back.... Definitely YES. Very considerate we arrived late but the manager left the keys for us with the security

I love the place because it is a very quiet place, and the rooms are very clean. Special thanks to the lady who was cleaning our house; at least we could communicate with her in English, and we understood each other. But other people's communication breaks down.
A wonderful setting on the lagoon. Very clean and well organized. Highly recommended as a getaway location for a week of relaxation.

We rented a villa for 8 people with a mini splash pool overlooking the lagoon. The villa is big and spacious for 7 people, it has a/c in all bedrooms and living area as in August it's humid and hot. The unit, pool and barbecue area were cleaned daily which is great. Excellent location, we loved waking up to the beach view, the safety when taking evening walks to/from the games room or the restaurant. My kids (10 & 11yrs) had the best time with resort offered activities (boat rides, beach tubing, kayaks, beach volley ball, put put, chess) and every morning there are outside providers on the lagoon for jet skiis. A friend who had visited previously recommended a local chef who has a permit to be in the resort, and he offered his services to go source fresh sea food, coconut rice, pau (addictive local bread rolls) and the yummy local fresh chili sauce and cooked dinner. The sea food is tasty, and variety is amazing (fish, prawns, calamari, crab, lobster) at great prices. The villas have no WiFi, it's centralized to the common areas (restaurant, reception & games room). We did not mind this as we wanted to switch off from screens, but it would have been great to know in advance. We took a walk to the small town during the day and night to check out the local fruit & vegetable market, not much to see but we met very friendly local people and felt very safe. We drove from Johannesburg; the drive is long and was made longer by the road maintenance work and police road blocks every few kilometers. The road quality is great, no need for SUV/4x4, resort can be reached with a low clearance sedan. Just beware of the low speed as well (40-80km/h). We really got to relax and had a great family holiday; I would highly recommend the resort.

Outstanding! Modern, very clean, spacious, and on the beach - simply divine! Rooms: Airconditioner, cupboards, confortable beds and pillows. Nearby activities: As one wishes, from tubing, jet skis, to horse ridings on the beach... amazing. Safety: Did not feel the lack of it at any point. I walked 26km and it was safe and friendly all the way. Walkability: Lots of sand but great, I walked 26km and felt safeall the way. Food & drinks: Plenty available. Noteworthy details: Fantabulous!
We went there for the breakfast buffet, and to spend the day on the beach. The staff were amazing: friendly and efficient. The beach was beautiful, and because we went out of peak season it wasn’t too busy.

We had a wonderful, restful and fun time at San Martinho. From the minute we arrived at reception, Daniel the manager - who is kind, patient and acutely service-minded - clearly tuned into his customers needs - ensured the accommodation we had chosen was what we expected. We had booked at the fabulous new Vila Atul and he took time to explain the layout of the spaces and ensured our family was happy and settled. We had the most fabulous house right on the beach with views to die for. Linen is high quality and house was spotlessly clean with all the equipment you'd need for any self catering needs. Pools were sparkling clean, watersports were a highlight for the children and putt putt course was surrounded by trees - a tropical adventure! We'd booked two places on our trip - a real spoil at San Martinho - with the intention to relax, read, swim, take in the views and enjoy some fun activities with the kids. Our second part at Shongili on the other side of the lake was a beautiful rustic adventure - the perfect compliment to the luxurious time spent at Vila Atul. Hubby is Norwegian and didn't want to leave, he described the place as his best kind of holiday rest - perfect after much grafting back home! He'd return in a heartbeat. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The staff were friendly and helpful - Jessica went to great efforts to help us to find a taxi to get to and from the airport, the restaurant was delightful with local fresh fish and menu, as well as easy tasty food for the children. The waiters were eager to serve and friendly. We loved that when we returned on our boat from across the lake, Daniel was there waving from the restaurant like and old friend and he and his staff kindly went out of their way to collect our many bags from the beach and to take them to the restaurant where we waited for our taxi (which Daniel and Jessica had kindly organised for us) back to Maputo - happy and rested after a wonderful time! Safety: We felt very safe at the resort and on the beach and only a little alert on walking trips to the local market/village/shops, as we are unfamiliar with the area and have a cautious attitude coming from South Africa. Walkability: Most of the time would be spent at the resort, which has everything you need for a luxurious holiday. We brought some pasta/ rice and filter coffee (!) etc for nights we wouldn't eat out and the local store 15 minutes walk away has everything you might need to cook - tinned veggies, rice, eggs 5L water. The market sells various fruit and vegetables. We opted for the peelable variations.

The beach resort was absolute bliss. Staff amazing. However when it came to booking jetski’s the price increased 1000mts between the gardener and jetski owner. This really does not sit well.

We truly had an amazing experience all round. The views are incredible, the units are stunning and well equipped with aircon and a dial pad to order in from the restaurant or call reception. As a family, the kids were entertained the entire week with cannoes, bicycles, tubes and boat rides. The staff at the entertainment section Enoch, Chad Falicia were incredible and went above and beyond. The location is breathtaking and the resort is clean. The locals do arrive on the beach to sell you a bracelet here but they are respectful, we supported them on day one and they left us in peace for the rest of the week. The only thing that is missing is a little kiosk or small grocery store for your odds and ends which would then tick all aspects of convenience. Overall an incredible stay and we will definitely be back.

Um dos melhores resorts deste país. Consegue agradar diferentes tipos de públicos. Para quem precisa de privacidade, descanso é possível encontrar aqui. Igualmente para quem vem desfrutar de um dia diferente. Com inúmeras actividades aquáticas. Dispõe ainda de um restaurante, bar na área da piscina. Parece que cada ambiente foi desenhado para nos acolher.

The resort was outstanding, lots of activities to keep us entertained and the staff are very friendly and accommodating, a special thanks to the fun crew, they kept up entertained throughout our stay. Great restaurant and bar onsite. This place has everything you need really. Amazing restaurants in the area too, I would highly recommend trying the Highlanders Fishing Lodge , though we got lost on our way there, the food was impeccable and the owners were very helpful.

The place was beautiful and luxurious. Beautiful views of the lagoon. Lots of activities you can do around the place. Patio was very nice too. Bed sheets were dirty. There is no WiFi connection in most of the apartments and that super inconvenient. Before you go take everything from your home place. The markets their don’t sell anything basics and the closest store is 40 minutes away

Everything at San Martinho was amazing. The apartments. The service. The people. The place is a beautiful resort and it’s very well taken care of. I went there with 5 of my friends and we created memorable moments. I would recommend for anyone to go there and I’d go again. There are also plenty of water activities to keep you busy Rooms: They have apartments with 4 bedrooms and villas. Nearby activities: Water activities. Horse riding. Quad biking. Board games. Jet ski. Safety: Very safe but lock up your apartment. Walkability: Great to walk around on the sandy beach
